A fast-moving storm system has triggered multiple tornadoes in America’s Midwest.<br /><br />At least five people have been killed and scores injured as the winds tore across large parts of Washington, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.<br /><br />Hundreds of homes have been flattened and whole neighbourhoods devastated.<br /><br />The National Weather Services’ Storm Prediction Center said the storm system had moved dangerously fast, tracking eastward at 97 kph.<br /><br />Forecasters say up to 53 million people may have been affected. <br /><br />It is unusual to have such destructive storms at this time of year with November normally a quite month in the Tornado calendar.
