At least 20 people have been killed and six buildings damaged in the Iranian embassy compound in Beirut after twin explosions.<br /><br />One police source says two rockets were fired towards the area, in the southern part of the Lebanese capital, while another source said the explosions were a car bomb.<br /><br />Iran is a supporter of local Islamist militants Hezbollah and Lebanon’s Shia Muslims, and the Assad regime in neighbouring Syria.
