In Turkey, the Kurdish-majority city of Diyarbakir has just received a very symbolic visit. Massoud Barzani, the president of Iraqi Kurdistan, was invited by Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan to help facilitate a reconciliation between Turkey's Kurdish community and Ankara. The message was not, however, welcomed by supporters of the PKK, the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
