One dead, two injured in light aircraft crash at Alaskan airport

Originally published on October 18, 2013 <br /><br />At least one person has died after a light aircraft crashed at an airport in central Alaska on Thursday, October 17.<br /><br />Initial reports say the Cessna 150 single engine plane had just taken off from Fairbanks International Airport with three people on board. <br /><br />For reasons still unclear, the aircraft lost altitude and plunged into a ditch about 100 yards from the southern end of taxiway C about 5.30 p.m. Its front section was completely destroyed. <br /><br />All three people were rushed to Fairbanks memorial Hospital, where one later died, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported. <br /><br />The names, ages and genders of those on board had not been made public at the time of publication.<br /><br />--------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />TomoNews is your daily source for top animated news.
