French police are holding a man in connection with shootings in Paris earlier this week, according to sources at the prosecutor’s office.<br /><br />The detainee reportedly has a “strong resemblance” to the shooter, but – the sources say – it is too early to determine whether he is definitely the man being sought.<br /><br />He was picked up at 19:05 (CET) in a carpark in Bois-Colombes, a suburb north-west of Paris.<br /><br />A manhunt was launched after an armed man entered the offices of newspaper Liberation on Monday, November 18 and opened fire, critically injuring one person<br /><br />The gunman then fired shots outside the headquarters of bank Société Générale, before hijacking a car that took him to the Champs-Élysées.<br /><br />The French authorities believe the same man also broke into the offices of television channel BFM on November 15, carrying a gun and making threats to employees.
