Taking time away from matters of state Barack Obama has performed the now traditional presidential task of sparing two turkeys the fate of becoming someone’s Thanksgiving dinner.<br /><br />On the eve of the annual US holiday one called “Popcorn” and the other “Caramel” were duly given a presidential pardon.<br /><br />The lucky birds will not be among the estimated 46 million turkeys Americans consume on Thanksgiving every year.
