ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br /> <br />STORY: Egyptian riot police fired tear gas to disperse a protest by supporters of ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi near a Presidential Palace in Cairo and in Giza on Friday.<br /> <br />Hundreds of protesters had gathered outside of the al-Qobba palace in Cairo's Heliopolis neighborhood, and were scattered into the side streets after police fired volleys of tear gas at them.<br /> <br />Police also fired tear gas to disperse a protest by Mursi supporters in the nearby province of Giza.<br /> <br />Friday's protests come amidst growing anger by both Mursi supporters and liberal activists over a controversial Protest Law adopted by Egypt's military backed government that severely restricts protest.<br /> <br />Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood are particularly incensed at harsh prison sentences handed out on Wednesday to 14 women and girls for taking part in a demonstration.
