Gunfire on the streets of Bangladesh as opposition parties extended their nationwide strike for two more days, seeking postponement of polls even as violence raged on.<br/> <br />At least six people were killed and dozens were wounded in the unrest.<br/> <br />The opposition-led strike -- which was scheduled to end Sunday has virtually paralyzed the country for the second straight week.<br/> <br />Now the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its allies declared the strike will run until Thursday.<br/> <br />The BNP is refusing to nominate candidates for the January parliamentary elections until the dispute over a caretaker government during the polls is settled.
