German FM meets with Ukraine protesters

It has been two weeks since protesters in Ukraine first took to the streets, demanding that President Viktor Yanukovich step down.<br/> <br />On Wednesday night (December 4), thousands were still rallying at the Independence Square in Kiev.<br/> <br />German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle met with some of the protesters, and told opposition leaders that the door to Europe "remains open" for Ukraine.<br/> <br />Westerwelle was accompanied by Ukrainian boxing champion Vladimir Klitschko, who leads the opposition with his brother Vitaly.<br/> <br />Protesters have condemned Yanukovich's decision to pull out of a trade deal with the European Union, in effect bringing Ukraine closer to Russia.<br/> <br />While unrest grips his country, Yanukovich has embarked on a three-day visit to China, where he is seeking investors.
