Turkish police have used tear gas and a water cannon to break up a protest at a funeral for two Kurds who were shot dead during clashes on Friday.<br /><br />Protesters in the southeastern district of Yuksekova lined up barricades of burning tyres on the road near to the site of the funeral, and pelted officers with stones.<br /><br />Saturday’s demonstration comes after the death of two Kurds during a violent confrontation with police over claims that Kurdish rebel cemeteries had been destroyed.<br /><br />Local authorities deny the destruction of the cemeteries, in which fighters from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) are buried.
