"Frozen" and "Catching Fire" fuel box office sales

Disney's animated movie "Frozen," inspired by "The Snow Queen" fairytale, heated up the box office over the weekend with $31.6 million in U.S. and Canadian ticket sales.<br/> <br />The Washington Post said "Frozen may be a nod to the pleasures of vintage Disney and old fairy tales but there's nothing outdated about it."<br/> <br />Meanwhile, the dystopian thriller "Catching Fire: The Hunger Games" was still hot with moviegoers.<br/> <br />It pulled in $27 million in its second weekend in theaters, according to studio estimates.<br/> <br />NPR had this to predict about the second installment of the Hunger Games series: "The box-office odds continue to be, in that Hunger Games catchphrase, 'ever in its favor.'"<br/> <br />The film is one of this year's biggest hits.
