Colombia's Marxist rebel group, known as the FARC, said it will declare a 30-day ceasefire, starting December 15th.<br/> <br />It called on the government to respond with the same.<br/> <br />The announcement, made in Havana, comes a day after its guerrilla fighters were blamed for an attack in Colombia that left eight dead.<br/> <br />The Colombian government and the FARC are holding peace talks in Cuba aimed at ending a five-decade guerrilla war.<br/> <br />Farc negotiator Pablo Catatumbo:<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) FARC NEGOTIATOR PABLO CATATUMBO, SAYING:<br/> <br />"We sincerely believe that the fatherland does not deserve this bloodshed.
