‘12 Years A Slave’ and ‘American Hustle’ have taken front runner positions in the Golden Globe Awards nominations.<br /><br />Each film has seven nods. Both are in the running for the ‘Best Director’ award, among others.<br /><br />Historical drama “12 Years A Slave” tells the story of a man who was born free then forced to live as a slave. <br /><br />Lead Chiwetel Ejiofor is nominated for ‘Best actor in a film drama’ for his performance.<br /><br />Brit, Idris Elba will take on Chiwetel Ejiofor for the ‘Best actor’ title for his role as Nelson Mandela in “Long Walk to Freedom”.<br /><br />“American Hustle”, the tale of a New Jersey conman who inadvertently becomes involved with the Mafia, is shortlisted in the ‘Best film comedy or musical’ category.
