Heavy storms have caused flooding and damage to buildings in Madeira off the coast of Portugal.<br /><br />One person died after being swept out to sea.<br /><br />Schools have been shut and flights cancelled.<br /><br />Waves of up to seven metres high battered the coast and the island remains on red alert with more bad weather forecast.
