He’s not your average country music singer: with his laid-back attitude and sun-infused lyrics, former wake-border Jake Owen is making waves on the country music scene with his fourth album “Days of Gold”.

For the title song, “Days of Gold”, which is all about good times spent with friends, the Florida-born artist enlisted the help of two big names in country music: Jaren Johnston and Neil Mason.

“This is the first record where I haven’t written anything. I usually write most of my songs, but this time around, I was so lucky to have so many great songs being thrown my way that it was hard not to want to record them. I don’t think I really set out to say, ‘Well, this song is about a break up, this song is about a good time, this song is about…” I just thought it was really important to fill this record full of great songs,” said Jake Owen.

After opening for established country music artists like Keith Urban and Tim McGraw, Jake Owen says he learned a lot from being on the road with such talent.

For “Days of Gold”, Owen pairs up once again with Joey Moi who successfully produced his breakthrough album, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”, back in 2011.

The album has received mostly positive reviews by critics who praise its energy-infused pace and the singer’s contagious confidence.

“Days of Gold” is out now.
