ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: U.S. director David O. Russell was honored at the Capri, Hollywood Film Festival on December 11 in Italy.<br/> <br />The Oscar nominated filmmaker was given the Capri Master of Cinematic Art Award before the start of the festival which runs from December 27 to January 2.<br/> <br />After receiving the award for his 2012 film "Silver Linings Playbook" Russell explained his process for directing.<br/> <br />"Everybody does it differently. I think some people do it, you know, everybody does it different. For me I had to learn, it took me all my life to come to this point to make these three movies. To learn that these are the movies that I feel from my heart. I had to make the other movies I had to lose my way, I had to get lost. I had to find - and then I had to wake up again. That's what happened to me, that's what happened to my characters," said Russell.<br/> <br />The film festival will also honor film maker Paolo Sorrentino.
