<p>Up to 200 African migrants demonstrated outside Israel’s parliament building on Tuesday, December 17, against a new law that allows indefinite detention of those illegally in the country. The demonstration capped a two-day march by the migrants, who fled a detention center in southern Israel on Sunday and made their way to the Knesset in Jerusalem to draw attention to their plight. Israeli authorities subsequently <a class="link" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2013/12/17/israel-police-arrestafricanmigrantsatpeacefuljerusalemprotest.html" target="_blank">broke up the protest</a>.</p><br />Credit: Cody O’Rourke
