This was Tetyana Chornovil a few days ago.<br/> <br />She's a prominent Ukrainian opposition activist, known for investigating corruption among senior state officials.<br/> <br />And this is Chornovil on Christmas Day.<br/> <br />Police say the 34-year-old was beaten up, and left in a ditch by unknown assailants near the capital Kiev overnight.<br/> <br />Her attack happened hours after the publication of an article she wrote about the assets of top government officials.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) PROTESTER OLEH SHAPORENKO, SAYING:<br/> <br />"They beat a woman, a mother.
