This is dashcam video from the car of a Ukrainian journalist and opposition activist.<br/> <br />She's Tetyana Chornovil, known for investigating government corruption.<br/> <br />She was chased down in the capital Kiev at midnight Christmas Day and savagely beaten by unknown men.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) BEATEN UKRAINIAN JOURNALIST TETYANA CHORNOVIL, SAYING:<br/> <br />"A jeep was running into me, tried to smash into me. I jumped out of my car, ran to escape but they caught me and started to beat me up."<br/> <br />The assault on the prominent 34-year-old activist has restored some of the passion to mass anti-government protests in Kiev that had been losing steam.<br/> <br />Demonstrators, angry over the direction of the country and a violent police crackdown on protesters, are calling for President Viktor Yanukovich and his administration to resign.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) PROTESTER OLEXIY, SAYING:<br/> <br />"This was very brutal.
