State TV in Egypt has broadcast pictures of Al-Azhar University after fires damaged at least two buildings on the Cairo campus.<br /><br />The blazes started after clashes between security forces and students earlier.<br /><br />It’s understood police fired tear gas to disperse pro-Muslim Brotherhood students, who responded by setting tyres on fire, to try to disperse the gas, and throwing rocks. <br /><br />A newspaper claims the pro-Brotherhood students were preventing colleagues entering classrooms to take exams. <br /><br />Clashes across Egypt yesterday left five people dead. <br /><br />Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood took to the streets after Egypt’s government designated the group a ‘terrorist organisation’.<br /><br />Security forces used tear gas to try to quell the disturbances. <br /><br />Over 250 Brotherhood supporters were arrested under the new designation.
