In a show of solidarity with the People's Republic, Chinese President Xi Jinping enjoys a meal at a bun restaurant with the locals at a Beijing restaurant.<br/> <br />He even paid for his own food and chatted with customers, much to their surprise. And apparently with little security detail.<br/> <br />Such encounters are unusual for senior Chinese officials.<br/> <br />Since rising to power in November, Xi has demanded officials cut down on lush expenditures, and get closer to the people.
