Turkey's Erdogan says foreign powers responsible for "dissemination propaganda"

Nevermind the corruption scandal -- thousands rally to show their support for Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan Saturday.<br /> <br />The allegations involve accusations of wrongdoing at a state-run bank. It has forced three ministers to resign.<br /> <br />One minister who quit said Erdogan knew what was going on and should resign as well.<br /> <br />Ergogan puts the blame on international meddling.<br /> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Turkish) TURKISH PRIME MINISTER TAYYIP ERDOGAN, SAYING:<br /> <br />"If Turkey gets stronger, it will build up the people. They cannot accept this. International powers are behind this... Dissemination propaganda has been launched against us. There is a gang, a cabal organizing within the state."<br /> <br />On Friday, detractors were out in force calling for Erdogan's resignation.<br /> <br />But defiance worked for Erdogan six months ago -- when he was beset by unprecedented anti-government protests. He was accused of being authoritarian and ordered a police crackdown in which eight people died.
