The streets of Argentina are burning.<br/> <br />The worst heatwave in at least four decades has caused major power outages and water shortages.<br/> <br />Now residents in Buenos Aires are protesting the conditions.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) MONICA COLLIANTE, RESIDENT SUFFERING FROM POWER OUTAGE, SAYING:<br/> <br />"This really needs to be resolved one way or another. This is the first time that I have ever gone through something like this and the truth is that it shames me."<br/> <br />Temperatures in the capital have soared to 44 degrees Celsius, or 111 degrees Fahrenheit.<br/> <br />Emergency workers are delivering much-needed water to residents.<br/> <br />One ice cream shop had to close its doors to the public after the outages spoiled the goods.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) OWNER OF ICE CREAM SHOP GILBERTO VEGA SAYING:<br/> <br />"The worst thing is that I feel as if I have been abandoned. I pay my taxes and I am up to date on everything and at this moment, we have been abandoned. I don't know who is to blame. I
