It´s the main interlude before the guitar solo. Anyway, we always recommend guitarists to play chords and riffs before trying to shred.
In this case it´s a pretty advanced lick so if you are a beginner it will be difficult to play it.
Lead guitar has an endless of possibilities, so let´s starts practicing!
Yngwie, is a famous neoclassical metal guitarists who was born in 1963 in Stockolm, Sweden. He´s known for his neoclassical fast guitar playing and also for his amazing technique. He also was a pionner and he changed the world of guitar back in the early 80s.
So, the example of today´s lesson is a neoclassical line in A minor which has a strong barroque influence. It´s also a great vehicle for practicing alternate picking.
It´s basically a pedal note, or pivot note melody, something commonly used in barroque pieces. For getting the right sound, it is really important to add some distorsion, reverb and a bit of delay if you want. Start it very slow at first and increase the speed gradually.
Ok, hope this helps and don´t forget to come up with your own ideas, which is the best advice for starting to find `your´ unique sound and style. That is all for today...
Also we suggest that you keep enjoying and learning from Silvio Gazquez and all the staff of Guitarcontrol.com! Where?
