Hundreds of journalists in Turkey have been protesting in Istanbul to call for the release of a newspaper reporter kidnapped in Syria.<br /><br />Bunyamin Aygun, who works for Miliyet, went missing after interviewing an opposition military leader in late November last year.<br /><br />He is one of around 30 journalists who have disappeared in the country and protesters want their government to do more to secure their freedom.<br /><br />“There is no safety in Syria. Nobody can guarantee our security,” said demonstrator Can Ertuna. <br /><br />With around 70 journalists killed in 2013, Syria remains the world’s most deadly place for the press for the second successive year, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
