Violence in Bangladesh as ruling party set to win election

The ballot boxes are locked and polls are closed in Bangladesh.<br/> <br />In this violence-plagued election, Bangladesh's ruling party is poised to win.<br/> <br />Local media is reporting that at least 18 people were killed in separate incidents on election day.<br/> <br />Many more were injured. Six supporters of Bangladesh's main opposition party lay injured in a hospital.<br/> <br />They were wounded by police fire, after attempting to attack a police station while they protested against the elections.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Bengali) UNIDENTIFIED OPPOSITION SUPPORTER SAYING:<br/> <br />"We will not allow voting, for as long as democracy is not restored. This is a democratic country.
