A deadly blast of arctic air gripped the United States Midwest, and moved eastwards on Tuesday.<br/> <br />Travel was paralyzed as drivers dealt with snowy and icy road conditions, leaving some vehicles stranded on the highway. Thousands of flights were canceled across the country.<br/> <br />There's frigid temperatures, and then there's the wind-chill.<br/> <br />New York's Central Park hit a record low of 4 degrees Fahrenheit (or minus 16 Celsius), but high winds made it feel even colder.
