Apex Blues Climax Jazz Band 1978 <br />In 1978 Kenny Davern was invited as a guest in one of the Peter Appleyard Jazz shows in Toronto, Canada. Peter did in a period of 3 years some 75 shows. Our Climax Jazz Band performed in a total of 6 shows. <br />In this clip Kenny plays a Jimmy Noone original, the Apex Blues. <br />Now 28 years later three members are still with the Climax Jazz Band and perform at Jazz Festivals all over the world. Jim Buchmann on reeds ( in this clip on alto) still plays as good if not better while Chris Daniels on bass and Jack Vincken on banjo still provide that unique solid background. <br />I left the band in 1996 to move to British Columbia.
