Demonstrators in Istanbul have clashed with police during a protest march on the French consulate. <br /><br />Around 600 people had gathered in the Turkish city calling for justice for three Kurdish women murdered in Paris last year. <br /><br />All were gunned down in the French capital. The motive for the killings still remains unclear. <br /><br />Security forces used tear gas, water cannon and also rubber bullets in a bid to push back the crowd which contained many supporters of the PKK, the outlawed Kurdish Workers Party. <br /><br />The deaths of the three women in Paris last January sent shock waves through Europe’s Kurdish community. <br /><br />Authorities in France have charged a 30-year-old man for the three deaths, but many Kurds continue to believe there has been a cover up.
