<p>Firefighters battled bushfires near Mount Helena in Perth, Western Australia, on January 13. According to <a class="link" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/hovea-man-dies-defending-home-from-perth-hills-bushfires-20140112-30ofh.html" target="_blank">local reports</a> dozens of homes were destroyed and at least one person was killed in the fires.
