ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />A volcano in Indonesia's North Sumatra continued to spew ash and lava on Thursday (Jan 16), threatening surrounding villages and destroying crops.<br/> <br />People living around the 2,460-meter-high volcano have been forced to evacuate and seek refuge at shelters.<br/> <br />The volcano which has been dormant for four centuries has experienced frequent violent eruptions in recent months.<br/> <br />According to National Disaster Management Agency more than 26,000 people have evacuated and are staying in 39 temporary shelters provided by local government.<br/> <br />Local government data also said that nearly 10,460 hectares of farming area has been destroyed.<br/> <br />Indonesia is laying on so-called the "Pacific Ring of Fire" with nearly 130 active volcanoes, more than any
