An Indonesian volcano continued to spew out ash on Friday (January 17), forcing more residents to flee.<br/> <br />The 2,460 meters high Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra province remained at its highest alert level.<br/> <br />The government's alert status is still at its highest level, after violent eruptions in recent months from the volcano that has lain dormant for four centuries.<br/> <br />Local authorities said nearly 10,460 hectare of farming area have been destroyed, and the ash is spreading further as wind picks up speed.<br/> <br />Some people stopped to take pictures of the large volume of ash coming out of the mouth of the volcano.
