TURKISH AIRLINES' flag has been carried by the Belgian Gasherbrum team to the two very top points of this double header: <br />the quest for two 8000m peaks: Gasherbrum II, 8035m and Gasherbrum I, 8069m, <br />and it was the only sponsor flag that could reach that height. <br /> <br />Gasherbrum, located in the Karakoram region of the Himalayas, is often claimed to mean "Shining Wall"; but in fact it comes from "rgasha" (beautiful) + "brum" (mountain) in Balti, so it means "beautiful mountain". Gasherbrum I, also known as Hidden Peak, is the 11th highest peak and Gasherbrum II is the 13th-highest mountain on Earth.
