Ten people have been killed and more than a dozen wounded in Pakistan after a suicide bomber attacked a crowded market.<br /><br />It happened near the Pakistani army headquarters in Rawalpindi, close to the capital Islamabad.<br /><br />Police say some security personnel are believed to be among the dead.<br /><br />The market is a ten minute walk from the army headquarters, in one of the most secure areas of the city. It was cordoned off by the military immediately after the blast.<br /><br />A Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of Islamist insurgents.<br /><br />The blast comes a day after a Taliban bombing inside an army compound in the northwest of the country killed at least 20 soldiers.
