The UN high commissioner for human rights has urged Myanmar to investigate the recent killings of Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine state. <br /> <br />Navi Pillay has called on the government of Myanmar to carry out a swift and impartial investigation and to hold accountable those behind the bloodshed. The UN says at least 48 Muslims, including women and children, were killed when Buddhist mobs attacked a village in northern Rakhine state earlier this month. There are around one-million Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. The government refuses to grant them citizenship. The United Nations has called them one of the most persecuted minorities in the world
