Brokeback Mountain opera premieres in Madrid

The operatic version of the tragic love story of two Wyoming cowboys told in "Brokeback Mountain" debuted in Madrid, Spain.<br /> <br />First published as a short story in 1997, "Brokeback Mountain" went on to get an Oscar-winning film adaptation from director Ang Lee in 2005.<br /> <br />Fast forward a couple of years, its theme of same-sex relationship and unattainable love piques the interest of composer Charles Wuorinen.<br /> <br />SOUNDBITE: Brokeback Mountain Opera Director, Charles Wuorinen, saying (English)<br /> <br />"It is not like these stock operatic versions of the same problems which have no interest to us anymore.
