ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: A rescue operation from land, air and sea continued on Tuesday evening to stop a fire in northern Norway.<br/> <br />The blaze, which started late on Monday evening, swept across the Flatanger area, affecting the small villages of Hasvag, Smavaeret, Harstad and Uran.<br/> <br />It was first feared that around 140 buildings had burned down but at a news conference in the afternoon police put the figure at around 90. It is not clear how many of those were residential or holiday homes.<br/> <br />According to media reports, Hasvag had been destroyed.<br/> <br />Bad weather in the morning and the remoteness of the area hampered early rescue efforts but by mid-morning helicopters, boats and fire personnel took part in efforts to contain the flames.<br/> <br />There are 32 residents in the area and all have been evacuated.
