ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />A video showing a large retired ferry dramatically grinding onto land has gone viral.<br/> <br />The clip, which has had over half a million views on YouTube, shows the 'Ostend Spirit' heading to the shore at speed, before scraping to a standstill between two boats.<br/> <br />It was retired by its owners, coming to rest for the last time at the ship-breaking yard in Aliaga, Turkey, where it was later taken apart.<br/> <br />The video, filmed in November 2013, has only now got world-wide attention.<br/> <br />The ship, formerly known as 'The Pride of Calais', served as a channel ferry for P&O Ferries, travelling between Dover and Calais for 22 years until 2012.<br/> <br />It was then renamed 'Ostend Spirit' and served another two years for Transeuropa Ferries, journeying between Ramsgate in England and Ostend in Belgium.
