Anti-government protesters blocked polling stations and forced about one in 10 across Thailand to close, raising questions about the legitimacy of the election.<br /><br />Voting ended at 08:00 GMT on Sunday but no results will be announced.<br /><br />About 89 percent of polling stations were able to operate normally, according to the country's election commission.<br /><br />Polls are scheduled to re-open again within the next few weeks.<br /><br />Al Jazeera speaks with Panitan Wattanayagorn, a political science professor at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.
