Family and close friends bid their final farewells for actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.<br/> <br />It was a star studded event with many of the world's top entertainers attending the funeral on Manhattan's upper East Side.<br/> <br />Cate Blanchett was visibly shaken as she climbed the stairs of the Church of St Ignatius Loyola with her husband.<br/> <br />Many of the actors at the service had worked with Hoffman.<br/> <br />Meryl Streep braved the cold with a long black scarf.<br/> <br />Michelle Williams lost her former partner, actor Heath Ledger, to an accidental drug overdose in 2008.<br/> <br />Hoffman's longtime partner Mimi O'Donnell and their three children gave one last look as his casket was placed inside the hearse.<br/> <br />Hoffman won an Academy Award for his role in the 2005 biographical film Capote.<br/> <br />.<br/> <br />He died tragically of an apparent heroin overdose on Sunday, robbing the world of a fine acting talent.
