Two people have been killed and around 20 people hurt – at least one of whom is in a serious condition in a train crash.<br /><br />It happened in the French Alps when the two carriage tourist train was derailed by a falling rock, local authorities said. Thirty four people were travelling on the line including two railway officials. <br /><br />Access to the scene of the accident was hampered by the snow. Two helicopters, 14 ambulances and 500 firefighters were deployed in the rescue effort. <br /><br />The crash happened around eleven o’clock local time on the Nice-Dignes line. The train was travelling between the town of Saint Benoit and Annot.
