Directors, actors and a whole lot of Hollywood talent came together on Monday night, representing the class of 2014 Oscar nominees.<br /><br />Attending the annual luncheon which takes place three weeks before the film industry’s biggest night, it’s a chance to say the lines: “It’s an honour just to be nominated”.<br /><br />This year’s collection reflects a field crowded with high-quality films and strong performances including that of Matthew McConaughey in ‘Dallas Buyers Club’. <br /><br />“I’m going to celebrate no matter what,” he said. <br /><br />“I’m already in celebration mode. I’m going to enjoy. This is my first time nominated. And if I ever get nominated again, who knows, but there would never been another first time. So I’m going to enjoy this one”.<br /><br />Producers for the 86th Academy Awards were also on hand to to give advice on acceptance speeches – the message was: “Say something heartfelt and meaningful rather than a list of people to thank and make it quick”.<br /><br />One can but hope.
