Rand Paul, libertarian group suing Obama admin over NSA spying

After months of revelations of spying by the U.S. National Security Agency, a lawsuit has been filed in federal court to stop some of these practices.<br/> <br />Here's Republican Senator Rand Paul.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SENATOR RAND PAUL, REPUBLICAN FROM KENTUCKY, SAYING:<br/> <br />"We are filing suit against the President of the United States, in defense of the Fourth Amendment. We will ask the question in court whether a single warrant can apply to the records of every American phone user all of the time, without limits, without individualization."<br/> <br />The lawsuit stems from the NSA collection of personal telephone metadata belonging to millions of Americans.<br/> <br />Details of these programs were leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden last year.<br/> <br />The lawsuit identifies President Barack Obama and various members of his national security team as the defendants.<br/> <br />At the news conference outside the court, Paul told journalists that the collection has not helped.
