The U.N. says thousands flee a rebel-held town in Syria near the border with Lebanon amid fears of a major assault by ground troops.<br /> <br />The video, which can not be independently verified by Reuters comes as peace talks in Geneva wind down with little movement to forge peace.<br /> <br />In Geneva the opposition says the Syrian government is dug in.<br /> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) OPPOSITION'S SYRIAN NATIONAL COALITION SPOKESMAN LOUAY SAFI SAYING:<br /> <br />"We are saying that the way the regime is negotiating is not leading to a result, and this is not only a conviction from our side, this is a conviction born now that these negotiations are not going in any direction."<br /> <br />The only tangible achievement of the talks has been a temporary ceasefire in Homs to allow in aid and to let people leave the city.<br /> <br />In contrast U.N. aid cannot reach parts of northern Syria because Damascus will not let U.N. convoys enter the country from Turkey, since all the border crossings are held by rebels.
