Michael Schumacher was in critical condition after undergoing brain surgery following a skiing accident in the French Alps on Sunday, doctors said. <br /><br />Jean-Marc Grenier, Assistant Director of Grenoble University Hospital Centre, confirmed that the former Formula One driver was in a serious condition during a news conference outside the hospital's emergency ward. <br /><br />"Mr. Michael Schumacher was admitted to Grenoble University Hospital Centre at 2:40 p.m after a skiing accident in Meribel in the late morning," Grenier said. <br /><br />"He had suffered a serious trauma and was in a coma. Upon his arrival, a neurological intervention was necessary.
