These were Pakistan army operations in a volatile tribal region called Mohmand Agency on Monday.<br/> <br />That's when fragile peace talks between the government and the Taliban also broke down.<br/> <br />It happened after a Taliban fringe group operating in the area said it had executed 23 soldiers kidnapped in 2010.<br/> <br />In a video statement, it said the executions were revenge for army operations in their area, and the killing of their own fighters by Pakistani armed forces.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Urdu) PERSONAL ASSISTANT OF CHIEF OF TEHREEK-E-TALIBAN, PAKISTAN'S BRANCH OPERATING IN MOHMAND TRIBAL AGENCY, OMAR KHURASANI, SAYING:<br/> <br />"The fact is that this government and the intelligence agencies do not want to bring peace to Pakistan.
