The Basque separatist group ETA took a historic step on Friday, giving up some of its guns and explosives.<br /><br />International monitors confirmed the weapons had been put out of use.<br /><br />ETA announced a ceasefire two years ago, after four decades of attacks in which more than 800 people died.<br /><br />The Spanish government dismissed the move, calling it “theatrical.”
