<p>Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) on Monday said it would see higher margins in 2014, after the completion of its deal to buy the 45 percent of Verizon Wireless from Vodafone.</p><p>On Monday, shares of Verizon Communications were down 1.21 percent to $46.70 in morning trading.</p><p>Over the weekend, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) released a software update for its iOS devices that dealt with an encryption failure. Apple stock edged up 0.57 percent to $528.30.</p><p>The Dow Jones industrial average jumped 124.91 points, or 0.78 percent, to 16,228.21.
