Ukraine’s former General Prosecutor Viktor Pshonka has left his plush villa on the outskirts of Kyiv, his whereabouts unknown.<br /><br />The one time close ally of ousted President Viktor Yanukovych has fled and his opulent residence is now under the control of the Pravyj Sector – the far right.<br /><br />Euronews cameras were given a tour through rooms adorned with antiques, pictures and ancient icons.<br /><br />It is a glimpse of a life lived in luxury and in strong contrast to the lives of the people Pshonka would pass judgement on.<br /><br />The public are not allowed in, security is tight to prevent looting and to protect what could prove to be valuable evidence. Curiosity has drawn visitors from the city. <br /><br />“We’d all like to live like this ourselves. At least for several days,” said one while another added, “I was shocked when I saw pictures of the mansion. You watch them and you think this one is probably the last but no there is another one and then one after that with a new statue or something like that.” <br /><br />Those pictures which include one of a private swimming pool and a billiard table have raised many questions including how and where the former General Prosecutor acquired the antiques and valuable art work.<br /><br />The answers to those questions it is hoped will come when the man who lived here in such style is finally tracked down.
