The murder trial of athlete Oscar Pistorius, due to begin next week in South Africa, is to be partially televised live.<br /><br />A judge in Pretoria has authorised three cameras in “non-intrusive” parts of the courtroom.<br /><br />The athlete’s defence team argued that TV coverage would prejudice proceedings and his testimony will not be broadcast. <br /><br />Nicknamed “Blade Runner” because of his artificial legs, Pistorius shot dead his girlfriend, the model Reeva Steenkamp, last year.<br /><br />He claims he thought she was an intruder but the prosecution argues the killing was premeditated.
